The European Geosciences Union (EGU) General Assembly 2009, will be held in Vienna Austria on April 19-24, 2009.
EGU General Assembly 2009 will bring together geoscientists from all over Europe and the rest of the world into one meeting covering all disciplines of the Earth, Planetary and Space Sciences.
Moreover EGU will represent a good platform for young scientists who could share and discuss their ideas with the main experts in all fields of geosciences.
Within the group discussion of ‘Hydrological Sciences’ a special session about “Mountain Hydrology and Climatology: present state and future scenarios” would be convened and chaired by Prof. Daniel Viviroli (University of Bern). Main themes that would be approached include: dynamics of the water cycle in all its states, snow re-distribution by natural and human-induced processes in the water cycle and the coupling of hydrology and climatology in future scenarios with possible emphasis on the impacts on and of dam reservoirs.
Within this session, Dr. Gianni Tartari, chair of the CEOP High Elevations working group on behalf of Ev-K2-CNR, would give a talk on “High altitude and environmental monitoring: the SHARE Project and CEOP-HE”
